RVU Zen – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

RVU Zen ("the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App stores, how that data is handled, and what control you have over it.

          Key principle: RVU Zen is a local-only, offline-first app.
          All data you enter is stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
          The developer does not operate a backend server for the App and does not receive your data.
        

2. Data the App Stores

The App stores only the information you manually enter or configure. This may include:

CPT codes and related descriptions.
wRVU values and conversion factors.
Encounter dates, times, and durations.
Optional notes you add to an entry.
Optional identifiers (such as Name, MRN, FIN, DOB, or "Other"), if you choose to enter them.
Settings and preferences, such as display options or export settings.

This information is stored only on your device in the App’s local storage.

3. No PHI Requirement and No PHI Collection

RVU Zen is designed so that use of the App does not require you to enter Protected Health Information ("PHI") as defined under HIPAA.

The developer does not request, collect, or receive PHI. Any identifiable information you choose to enter into the App remains on your device and is not transmitted to the developer.

          Your choice: If you elect to enter identifiable information (such as patient names
          or IDs), you are responsible for doing so in a way that complies with your local laws, your institution’s
          policies, and any relevant professional obligations.
        

4. Local-Only Storage

RVU Zen does not send your locally stored data to any third-party analytics service, advertising network, or custom backend maintained by the developer.

Your data may still be included in:

Encrypted device backups made via iCloud or iTunes/Finder, if you have enabled them.
Files you intentionally export or share (for example, PDF exports via the iOS share sheet).

These mechanisms are controlled by you and by Apple’s system services, not by the App’s developer.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

RVU Zen uses Apple’s in-app purchase system for subscriptions. All payment processing, billing details, and purchase history are handled entirely by Apple.

RVU Zen does not have access to:

Your full payment method (credit card number, bank account, etc.).
Your billing address or detailed transaction history beyond what Apple exposes via APIs.
Your Apple ID credentials.

To review or manage purchase history and subscriptions, use your device settings under Apple ID > Subscriptions.

6. No Third-Party Analytics or Tracking

The App does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels. The App does not:

Track your activity across other apps or websites.
Collect device identifiers for advertising (IDFA) or similar purposes.
Send usage data to external analytics providers.

7. Security and Your Responsibilities

While RVU Zen stores data locally and does not transmit it to the developer, the security of your data also depends on how you protect your device.

You are responsible for:

Using a secure device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID where available.
Controlling who has physical access to your device.
Managing your backups (e.g., using encrypted iCloud backups).
Handling exported files carefully and storing or transmitting them securely.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete your data in two main ways:

Use in-app options such as "Delete All Entries" (if available) to clear your locally stored encounter data.
Delete the App from your device. This will remove the App and its associated local data from that device.

If your data is included in encrypted device or iCloud backups, it may remain in those backups until they are rotated or deleted according to your backup settings.

9. Children’s Privacy

RVU Zen is intended for use by adult professionals or individuals managing their own productivity, not for use by children. The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.

Your continued use of RVU Zen after an updated policy has been posted indicates that you accept the changes.
